Filled with tenderness and gratitude for God’s abundant blessings, my prayer today is “Thank you” - ….to family members and friends who have encouraged the dream; to the Sisters of Charity for nurturing the deepest desires of my heart; to our Creator God who repeatedly calls us and loves us into life.
Sr. Cecilia Harriendorf,
at her final profession of vows as a Sister of Charity, 12/6/08
We have been talking a lot about our poverty. I think we ought to talk about our riches. God has given us so many gifts!
Sr. Florence Simpson
At the heart and center of our ministry is our faith and deep belief that each person we encounter is a child of God, precious, valuable, who needs to be loved, respected and treated with great dignity.
Sr. Dorothy Gallant,
who works among people who are homeless
and formerly homeless in NYC
The New Year is always a good time to look at our “personal work” that is still undone and make a focused assessment and plan for the future…. It is so important to look at ourselves in the context of the big picture. Otherwise we may become immersed in our individual agendas, while the needs of the world are crying out to us. Despite all that we cannot change, we do have the ability to change our future by simply changing our attitudes, knowing that “the God who loves me will go before me.”
(Psalm 59:10)
