How do we pray today? What do we pray about?
We pray in and through the desires of our hearts and the work of our hands.
We pray in the words of our lips and the gestures of our bodies.
We pray by contemplating God's revelation in Scripture and in the experiences of each day.
We pray alone, in small groups, in large gatherings of worship.
We pray where we live and where we work, at congregational gatherings and with God's people whom we serve.

Listen to our Sisters and Associates as they reflect on God’s surprising presence in this season of thankful, hope-filled Advent waiting.

How do we truly comprehend the wonder of God’s Love, poured out always and forever to all people – to the universe?  Is, in fact, the universe the supreme manifestation of that Love?  Aren’t we, each and every one of us, God’s love made flesh?

Sr. Elaine Owens

In these bleak days of winter, can we believe that new life is coming to birth in us and around us? This is my prayer. This is what gives me hope.

Sr. Anne Miriam Connellan

In Advent we pray longingly, “Come, Lord Jesus…Show us your face…Don’t hide from us.” And God replies in baby-form. Surprise!
You’d think we would take the hint and learn the lesson: however God comes, the appearance is not always going to provide us with cozy confirmation.

Sr. Regina Bechtle

Everyone is feeling the impact of the economic crisis. Perhaps Elizabeth Ann Seton can become a confidante for us as we come to understand that she – in her mid-twenties and the mother of young children – lived through a severe economic crisis as well as the loss of her loved ones – yet always kept her heart set on what gives life its deepest meaning.

Sr. Charlotte Raftery
