Everyone has a sacred story to tell and everyone needs someone to listen with the ears of his/her heart and to honor that story…. It’s all about the Story, God’s, yours, mine and ours.
…. Even the smallest child, after a while, comes to know (in his or her place of knowing) that we are all part of the BIG Story – the Story of God and the Story of Jesus – we all live and move and have our being within that Story…. We are all connected because we are all held within the holiness of the One Who IS THE STORY. Remembering that and honoring that understanding is, for me, the core of my connection to the Sisters and Associates of Charity.

One truth is clear: this monumental change is all pervasive. To sustain it we must have total respect for diversity not tolerance of, or patronage of, differences, but deep Christian respect based on the incarnational reality of God's presence in the world; of Christ's redemption of all humanity; of the Holy Spirit's inspiration that suffuses our times....
We may not be able to depict the face of the 21st century, but the Church will be there, and the Sisters of Charity - please God - prepared and ready to serve.

Come, Spirit of God,
Spread over tribal conflicts and nations at war
Spread over groups and factions
Spread over cliques and gangs
Spread over all of us.
May a new wind blow
To fill us with desire and strength
That all may be one
Because you created us as one, and that is how you want us to be.
Prayer composed by Sisters Anne Denise Brennan & Nora Cunningham, SC
