From time to time, the Sisters of Charity of New York sponsor prayer services, retreats, lectures, fund raisers, and other special occasions to which you are invited. This is where you can learn about them.
There's a lot happening in the Congregation today:
· New or long-established ministries for the poor are not just holding
their own, they are increasing their services.
· Sisters are working with immigrants, helping those in shelters, caring for
the needs of women and providing homes to women and children.
· Our Guatemalan and Bahamian missionaries are building our Church for
tomorrow.
· In Guatemala, a formation program needs to be built and the Sr.
Barbara Ford Center for Peace-Building is becoming a reality
· All our retirement facilities have required major renovations for
additional housing space and programs for this and the next generation
of retired Sisters.
To meet this growth, we plan to sponsor several special events.
On Thursday, May 8th, join us at the Yale Club, opposite Grand Central Station in New York City, between 6 & 9pm for the first annual Sisters of Charity Benefit.
Enjoy an evening of good company, good music, and delicious hors d’oeuvres.
Bid on a collection of great auction items, including resort stays, theater tickets, restaurant passes, tickets to NYC pro sports teams and more! Don’t be surprised if you see a celebrity or two.
Proceeds will benefit smaller ministries where Sisters work to improve the lives of the homeless, new immigrants and women in general.
