HELP WANTED…
Legacy of Values Project
Talk with residents to listen to their stories and highlight in a page or two their legacy to us – their tidbits of wisdom from their experience.
Ministry of Presence
Connect with two or three residents individually who need special attention – sometimes just sitting with them in silence, reading a book or offering small talk is all that is needed. Many of these residents are not visibly interactive so many volunteers find just being with a resident difficult. We need people who are able to understand the importance of the ministry of presence.
Meeting in a Small Group with Three or Four Residents
Read a story or speak on a topic that interests you, the volunteer. Past topics have included: the Hudson River, immigration, book themes.
Immigration, Human Trafficking, Uninsured, Care of Earth, Spirituality, Elder Wisdom, and Other Special Topics
Assist Sr. Carol D’Angelo, SC in setting up displays and presentations on these and other important topics.
Special Group Presentations
Do you have an area of expertise that you would like to come and share on a one-time basis? Our more cognitively alert residents would enjoy the stimulation.
